Monsters in the sky

Devouring dust

A lust for all the earth has made

It takes

It takes

Such beauty

Such grace

Debris field in their wake

​

The angel of death has lost its wings

Watch it dancing on shards of shattered dreams

Clouds kiss the ground

And betray their fragile friend

​

The sky cries

Howls and wails

Roars and whispers

​

Then a stillness

​

Smoke in the distance

A mass of rolling black dust

The decay, bones of the earth corrode in flame

Coil and curdle and peel away

​

A scar left behind

In the ground and on this day

The day the world caved in

And left us in a stillness
